After finding out that the groom-to-be got cold feet, a Sacramento
family decides to keep their banquet reservation but invite a
different group of guests.

But at least it didn’t go to waste.
Maybe if we say prayers for the jilted bride and praise her and
her family for their charity, then it will become an acceptable

NORTON Joseph F., 76, of Ringwood passed away Nov. 5th after a brief illness.
Beloved husband of Carol (White) Norton for 55 years. Devoted father of Carol Miller and husband John, Kenneth and wife Rose, Lisa Holton and husband Sean and Robert Norton. Loving grandfather of John and Elizabeth Miller, Patrick, Kyle and Caroline Holton.
Born in Charlotte, NC. He is the son of the late Herman and Laura (Duncan) Norton.
He graduated from Manhattan College in 1960 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and a MS degree from George Washington University. He spent many years in Telecommunications working for ITT and Western Union. He was an early pioneer in computer modem technology.
He also was a past lector at St. Mary's church for many years. He will be sadly missed and remembered for his kindness, quick wit, honesty and devotion to his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or charity of choice . Bill Magee, the Bergen Catholic track coach and the Bergen County 2014-2015 Coach of the Year in indoor track and field, died early Friday morning at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck.
Magee, whose father, Bernie, had helped start the New Jersey Catholic Track Conference (NJCTC) in 1957, had coached at Bergen Catholic since 2008 and was the co-head coach in 2012 before being named the Crusaders’ indoor and outdoor coach in 2013.
Magee, who graduated from Roselle Catholic High School in 1970 and Manhattan College four years later, led the Crusaders to four straight Big North United indoor titles and a Bergen Relays indoor win last winter, earning the Crusaders the honor of The Record boys indoor Team of the Year.
"His genius was building rapport across all generations," said BC assistant coach Bill Leonard, himself an All-Bergen standout in the 1970s. "He knew how to draw things together and you could always count on Bill, not only in athletics but in everything involving the school."
Magee, a Maywood resident, coached at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Newark and several small New York schools and was a longtime New Jersey track official before he returned to coaching at Bergen Catholic.
"He was masterful at the seams and was somebody who brought people together," said Leonard. "He got along great with the whole coaching staff at school, not just track, and got athletes from other sports who helped our program win."

Vincent A. Coviello (Jim) passed away on Nov.6,2015.
Born in the Bronx on Nov.7,1929 to the late Joseph and the late Rose Coviello. He graduated Mt. St. Michael Academy (1947) and Manhattan College (1951).
He served in the army during the Korean War with the C.I.C. unit and was later stationed in Germany.
Initially, he worked at his family's pork store in the Bronx. Later, he began teaching business and computer science as well as coaching baseball and track at Commerce High School and Yonkers High School. He loved teaching and was much beloved by his students. He had many humorous stories to share about his years of teaching.
He was Treasurer of the Yonkers Teachers Federal Credit Union retiring after 40 years in 2007.
He loved baseball and was a N.Y. Yankees fan. He spent many days at Yankee stadium and also worked at the ticket office with his cousin, Mike Rendine, who was ticket manager.
He married the love of his life, Joan, in 1957. He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter Marrianne Costa; son James Coviello; grandchildren Joseph Anthony Coviello; Brittanny Costa; Elizabeth Ann Costa & Justin Coviello and sister Mrs. Elizabeth (John) DeVito. One son, Joseph John Coviello, predeceased him. Vincent (Jim) was a kind loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a caregiving, generous person to many. He will be deeply missed.
Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Sacred Heart Church, Hartsdale, N.Y. on Wednesday, 10:30 AM. John (Jack) R. Goll, Jr., 69 of Pequannock, died on November 7, 2015.
Born in New York City, Mr. Goll was raised in Astoria, NY and lived briefly in Watervliet, NY before moving to Pequannock, NJ in 1974. He was a graduate of Manhattan College and a CPA in the States of New York and New Jersey and later worked as a Controller at Vespia Tires in South River, NJ for over 20 years.
He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 295 of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Astoria, NY; a member of the Major William V. Holohan Squadron Arnold Air Society of Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY; Member of NYSCPA; NJSCPA, and AICPA. He also volunteered alongside his daughter for the Pequannock Animal Shelter and Animal Dignity Organization of Pequannock Township (ADOPT).
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Friday, November 13 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 11 am Saturday at Holy Spirit RC Church, Pequannock.

Bill was the devoted father of Michael Delaney and his wife Anna, Patrick Magee and his wife Jen, Ryan Magee and Robert Magee and the cherished grandfather of Eden, Grace, Eve and Mary Kate. For the first time in more than a half-century, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar got a chance to say thanks.

On Oct. 30, 2015, Abdul-Jabbar finally got George’s last name – Hejduk – and a chance to properly credit a man who had a profound impact on his career.
“It certainly was meaningful to me because I just wanted to say thanks and see how he was doing and how his life went,” Abdul-Jabbar told The Dispatch today. “It was amazing for me because I never knew George’s last name. When I was a kid, he was just George. He helped my grade-school coach.”
Following an Oct. 29 interview with Abdul-Jabbar on ESPN radio show “Mike and Mike in the Morning,” Hejduk’s son, Frankie, began tweeting that it was his father that taught the legendary center his famous sky hook. After reading a Dispatch article later that day, Abdul-Jabbar reconnected with the elder Hejduk the following day.
It was a detail in his life that Abdul-Jabbar said he was happy to fill in.
“The article that I saw, it was wonderful for me to finally make that connection again because he gave me something that has been a very special part of who I am and my success as a professional athlete,” he said. “Beyond the eighth grade, either he moved away from the neighborhood (or something) but I certainly stopped seeing him. George was going to college, so he had his own life to live, and I went on. I never knew George’s last name. I asked Sal and Sal didn’t remember because Sal had a couple guys that helped him. I just lost touch with him.”
The two spoke for about half an hour, with Hejduk telling stories of playing Abdul-Jabbar on the playground and losing to the eighth-grader in a game of two-on-two.
“It was great because he filled in a lot of missing spots in my memory, like what I was all about at that time,” Abdul-Jabbar said. “I was able to get observations from someone that was older than me, so he filled in on the type of person I was at the time. He said I was really dedicated."

QUEENSBURY | Bernard “Rusty” James Ryan, 83, of Queensbury, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Born June 24,1932, in Alder Brook, New York, he was the son of the late John J. and Marguerite (Buckley) Ryan.
A graduate of Au Sable Forks High School, Rusty received a BBA in accounting from Manhattan College, and a C.P.A. certificate from the state of New York.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1955 to 1957. Rusty began his professional career on the audit staff of Coopers and Lybrand, was later the assistant controller of General Public Utilities Corp. and the treasurer of Railway Express Agency before becoming an executive search consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick. In 1969, he became National Director of Search for Coopers and Lybrand, and in 1973 co-founded the executive search firm Ryan, Smith & Associates in New York City. He later consulted in executive search for Paul R. Ray and for BDO Seidman, both in New York City, and for BMF Reynolds in Somerville, New Jersey.
Rusty resided in Westfield, New Jersey, where he was a lector at the Parish of St. Helen, a Scoutmaster for Troop 79 (Tamaques School) and an active member of the Westfield Soccer Association. He also served on the boards of the Westfield Senior Citizens Housing Association and the Fannie Roncoli Foundation. Upon returning to his beloved Adirondacks, he became a member of the Glens Falls Elks Lodge and the Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard. He always enjoyed the out-of-doors: hunting, fishing, skiing and golfing, but most especially time spent at the family cabin in Quebec, Canada.
In addition to his parents, Rusty was predeceased by brothers, Robert “Bob” and John A. “Sandy” Ryan; and sisters, Kay Facteau; Teresa Eshleman; Muriel Rodgers; Patricia Ryan; Rita Mulvaney Haselton and Rosemary Irwin.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Margaret “Peggy” (O’Donnell) Ryan; son, David of Brooklyn; and daughters, Maureen (Kurt) Walten of Arlington, Virginia, and Ellen Ryan (Scott Laffin) of Asheville, North Carolina; and three grandsons, Jack, Dan and Tim Walten. Also surviving are his brother, Ray (Diane) of Manlius, New York, and sisters, Peggy (Ed) Zerrer of Bonita Springs, Florida; BJ (John) Burns of Atlanta, Georgia; and Joan (Richard) Oderkirk of Bergen, New York; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, 448 Aviation Road, Queensbury.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.
Glens Falls Elks Lodge No. 81 will conduct a Lodge of Sorrow service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday during calling hours.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, is a very special day in our lives, Veterans Day. For all of us, I know, it will be full of memories, love, admiration and gratitude and yes in some hearts, grief and loss. But, I also know that in our hearts and minds, we will honor our Veterans, those who served and those who serve in our armed forces. They are our heroes, they wore and wear "Dog Tags."
They don't ask for recognition, they were and are selfless. Some gave all, all gave some, is not just a saying, it recalls their sacrifice and their love and strength in what they believed and God help us if we ever forget.
I am taking the liberty of sharing with you the following true story shared with me by a dear friend who also signed that Blank Check to each of us for love of Country. This story is an incredible tribute to a man in WWII who did not look for recognition, expect adulation or sought fame. As I read each entry it gave me chills, an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride in being an American. Please read it, remember and raise the volume of our prayers for our Veterans. Wednesday is Veterans Day and is a Federal holiday. While we all enjoy an extra day off from work it is important that we not lose sight of why our nation celebrates Veterans Day.
Last week we were going through my dads military box looking for a picture of him for the Chronicle Veterans Day publication. In the box was a 1944 diary he kept during his 50 missions piloting a B 24 liberator bomber. I have shared a few of his entries below.
I have to remind myself that in 1944 my dad was just 23 years old. He was one of thousands of Montana farm and ranch kids who were called to defend the world from the relentless march of Nazi Germany. In his case he was recruited from the ranch, given 6 weeks of basic training, then 40 hours of flight training. Then along with 10 other crew members he climbed into a newly built 4 engine bomber and soared into the sky to fly alone over the ocean to a home base in Italy. My dad was the pilot and head of the crew at his young age. The crew included a copilot, bombardier, engineer, navigator, radio operator, gunners in the front, bottom and top turrets, tail gunner and two waist gunners. At 23 he was the oldest member of his crew. At the beginning of world war II the air crews were required to complete 35 missions. By 1944 so many crews had been shot down and couldn’t be replaced that the number of required missions was increased to 50. Statistically a third of all allied airplanes were shot down each mission so the odds of completing 50 missions were extremely low.
My dads diary did make me think about what a 23 year old today would answer if asked, “how was your summer?” Or when someone is asked in a job interview, “what was your biggest challenge in life and how did you handle it.” I wonder how the veterans mentioned in his diary, or for that matter veterans from all our conflicts, would respond.
When my 94 year old dads weathered fingers were turning the pages of his re-discovered diary last week he got a bit teary eyed. I suppose he was thinking not only of his lost youth in the skies above Europe, but also his young comrades who never came home. I think that is why all Veterans hold Veterans Day so sacred. They know about the commitment and sacrifices made in the sky and on the oceans, on the beaches of France and in the forests of Germany, on small atolls in the Pacific, throughout the jungles of Asia and in the sands of the middle east. That is why the rest of us need to remember that those sacrifices are why we enjoy our freedoms and lives we live today.
Veterans Day shouldn’t ever be viewed as just another day off. Let’s remember and honor those veterans who didn’t make it home and especially those who came home but have the scars and memories of war and service. If you see a Veteran on the street next Wednesday, please make it a point to shake his or her hand and say, “thank you for your service.”

Wiener Neustadt, Austria
Mission carried out by 484th bomb group to date. Flak extremely heavy, intense, accurate. Ships ahead of us, on our right and on our left shot down and left us as a single plane. Hydraulic system shot out. Landed with no brakes. Large hole in left rudder, large hole in left aileron. All scared but no casualties. 48 missions to go.
May 25 1944
Sagreb Yugoslavia
Flack heavy to our left and in front. Made a 360 degree turn over target with weather too bad to locate target. P 38 fighter escort ran low on gas and started for home. 461st bomb group made run on target without fighter escort and lost two planes and wounded 12 men when jumped by German 109 fighters. Earned Air Medal today. 43 to go.
May 29, 1944
Assigned to Wiern Neustadt, Austria but had to turn back when lost oil in number 3 engine. Had to feather. Dumped our bombs off of coast of Yugoslavia and accidently set off German minefield and exploded 30 to 50 mines. No mission credit since we didn’t drop on target.
May 31, 1944
Ploesti Rumania
Hit oil refinery on edge of Ploesti. Flak extremely heavy. B-17 pilot with 35 missions said there was more flak than all his missions put together. Hit target and oil spouted flames up to 18,000 feet. Four squadrons lost two planes apiece that we know of. Two planes made it to home field but were too shot up to land. Everyone baled out. Copilot of one jumped with unconscious engineer and pulled his rip cord then pulled his own. We were lucky as usual and only got one little hole in Aileron. Getting used to flack cause we get it on all raids but we are darn lucky, so I guess we will make it. This life is doggone hard on your nerves. 40 to go.
June 8, 1944
Nice France
R.R. bridge on Ventimiglia above Nice. Very heavy flak. High explosive shells. We got hit in number 3 engine and oil line shot out. Landed at Corsica Island for temporary repairs. No one hurt in the crew. Came home and tent all ripped down and clothes burned because of a haystack fire close by.

June 14, 1944
Munich Germany.
Supposed to bomb airplane factory but never got the chance. Half the group turned back leaving only 9 planes in first attack unit. Flak extremely heavy and we got jumped by 30 or 40 fighter planes. We are sure of shooting down 4. That makes 7 planes we shot down in the last 2 raids. The Germans are getting mad and sending up fighters. Six B-24’s’ missing today and 5 the last raid. Only 12 crews left so we have to fly almost every day. 35 missions to go.
June 22, 1944
Bombed Pola Submarine base in Yugoslavia. No casualties but bombardier hit between the eyes with flak leaving only a bruise. 33 to go.
July 8, 1944
Vienna Austria
Second most heavily defended area in the world. Flak very intense. Our target was oil storage tanks and we got no hits. I counted 16 parachutes about 10 miles from target. I think they came from three separate ships. 28 to go.
July 12
Nice France
Flak fairly accurate and heavy. Hit target very well. Came home on three engines. Every time I have flown to France I have come home on three engines. 26 to go.
July 18, 1944
Fredrichshvean, Germany
Bombed Dornier aircraft factory. Did a good job. Right on Swiss border. Might have gotten into Switzerland a quarter of a mile accidentally. Flak heavy and accurate. Got a couple of small holes. 466th bomb group lost 12 out of 22 ships to fighters. 20 to go.
July 20, 1944
Munich Germany
Flew behind lead ship of group. Pilot of ship on our left got hit in hip with flak. Lead ship got controls shot away and bombardiers leg broken by flak. Ship on right got hit in gas tanks by flak. Our bombardier hit in face and shoulder by flak. All ships hit at same time. One, two and three lead ships fell out of formation so we led the group out of flak. Came closest today to being shot down than any other time. This is second time ships ahead and on our wings have been knocked down leaving us up there alone. Bombardier not too badly hit but suffered a little shock. He gets an Oak Leaf Cluster to go with his purple heart. 18 to go.
July 28
Ploesti Romania
Rough Mission but we went around the target cause we got in prop wash and lost two turbo’s. I was sure glad we didn’t go through all that flak. Saw one plane explode ahead of us so completely there was hardly anything left. Never was so scared in my entire life. Saw many ships cracked up on the ground all along the route home. 16 to go.
July 30
Budapest Hungary
Rough mission and I’ll be doggone if I don’t get so scared its pitiful. Bombardier lay on the floor and covered himself up with metal flack suits and navigators knees gave out on him over target and he can’t look out any more. Crew now never looks out to see where bombs hit. I guess 50 missions is about enough. 15 to go.
August 3, 1944
Avignon, France
Bombed bridge. Lost one engine on bomb run and second lost almost all oil pressure coming off target. Had everything ready to throw out in case we lost too much altitude. Made Corsica ok and left our plane there. Needs two new engines. At camp someone said we were last seen heading for Spain so all the enlisted men’s pistols and jackets were taken. They got them all back from some embarrassed boys We got a new plane. This makes our fourth. The name of it is the “Flaming Mamie.” All of its crew finished 50 missions except its pilot who was shot down in another plane and is probably a POW. 14 to go.
August 11, 1944
Ploesti, Romania
Hit a very rough target. Flak heavy, accurate and intense. Flak hit flight deck, top turret and a piece about 4 inches long wrecked the tail turret. No one hurt. We dropped back after we dropped bombs and it’s a good thing or we would have been shot down cause flak started bursting where we should have been and there were about 20 birds there. 12 to go.
August 15, 1944
Fretua, France
Supported invasion this morning by bombing beach. Saw hundreds of boats and troops landing. 5 minutes after we hit the beach the infantry hit it. Big show with lots of planes and boats. They also landed paratroops inland when we were bombing. 9 to go.
August 21, 1944
Vienna Austria
Roughest Raid since my first one. Hit by 30 or 40 fighters and lost one plane piloted by my old copilot on his last mission. Flak was extremely heavy but we dropped bombs and went around it the best we could. Fighter planes laid for us all the way home and flew around us until we sighted the coast of Italy. Hope I never have another mission like today. Too rough. My nerves are getting too shot. Can’t sleep much at night. Flew a couple of new gunners with my crew today to break them in. They’re broke in! 4 to go.
September 1, 1944
Ferrara Italy
Returned bombs to base due to cloud coverage over target. Group separated in a cloud over fighter territory so I stayed with my box leader. We were the only two ships together so the fighters left us alone cause there were lots of single planes up there. Another new crew broke in on a very rough mission. Hit by flak. Mission 50 – FINITO-

Catherine, a friend to many of us, was hospitalized during the night with a severe case of Food Poisoning, a very painful and dangerous condition. We pray that it is gotten under control quickly, with no side effects and that Catherine is on her feet and back home very soon. When at Manhattan, Catherine joined us on several ocassions during our Retreat Committee meetings. She was always a welcome and appreciated guest. Thank you. God Bless.

BLANCHED William H., Jr., 93, of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, formerly of Emerson, New Jersey, passed away on November 9, 2015.
Devoted father of William F. Blanchard of River Vale, New Jersey and Susan Blanchard of Tuxedo Park, New York. Bill is also survived by his brother James T. (Susan) Blanchard of Yonkers, New York and his many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Frances Billmeyer and also by Lee Pastore, his second wife. Predeceased by his brother Robert C. and his wife Violetta, of New Jersey.
Bill was the first of three sons born in Yonkers, New York to William H. and Marion (Lennon) Blanchard. He graduated from PS 21 and Roosevelt High School in Yonkers and Manhattan College. In his youth Bill was an altar boy, an eagle scout, and a star athlete in school. He was proud to have pitched in Yankee Stadium. He was part of the greatest generation, a World War II Navy veteran serving in the Aleutian Islands and the South Pacific. Upon returning from the service, Bill began a 40 year career at the F.W. Woolworth Company, starting in the stock room and retiring as the executive vice president.
Bill was a proud and passionate man who loved his golf, the New York Yankees, his country, but most of all lived for his family and friends.
All are invited to call on Friday, November 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood, New Jersey. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, 29 Jefferson Avenue, Emerson, New Jersey on Saturday, November 14th at 10am. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetary, Mahwah, New Jersey.

William Tully, 77, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 after fighting Alzheimer's Disease for a number of years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Claire (Mortimer) Tully, 3 wonderful children, Doug (Bend, Oregon), Shannon (Chicago, IL) and Dan and wife Shawn (Cincinnati, OH) and his cherished grandchildren Mary, Charlie, Katie, Allie and Annie Tully, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his dear brother Dr. John Tully.
He was born in NYC to John and Helen Tully, also predeceased, who both immigrated to the US from Ireland. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical HS and Manhattan College, where he was a member of the orchestra, having studied trumpet with Sammy Spear, noted band director of The Jackie Gleason Show. Later he earned an MBA from the University of Dayton. Upon college/ROTC graduation, Bill was assigned to Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he continued as a civilian working in the C-5 SPO and then the multi-national F-16 SPO until his retirement as Assistant Program Director.
His second career was in real estate with Paragon Realtors. During his semi-retirement, Bill and Claire enjoyed traveling to NYC/Upper West Side, spending many happy weekends filled with the best music, arts, restaurants and walks in Central Park. They took a memorable trip to Ireland, where Bill was able to trace his ancestry in County Galway. He proudly flew his Irish flag each year on St. Patrick's Day.
Bill was an active member of the community, having served on the Oakwood YMCA Board, city Environmental and Planning Committees, and the Oakwood Rotary. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Dayton Area Board of Realtors, and was a commissioner on Montgomery County Veteran's Commission Board.
He would give the world for his family and friends and will always be remembered as a sweet man with a big heart, willing to help with anything at any time for anyone, absolutely. Although Alzheimer's took most of his memory, the one thing he could clearly remember was his undeniable love for his family. Love love.

On Veteran's Day, we honor those who have proudly served our country. This photo, shared by Paul Schade '92, shows his grandfather William McClurg during World War II in the Army Corps of Engineers, 30th Engineer Battalion. William dreamed of attending Manhattan College and, after the war, enrolled under the GI Bill and was taught by Br. Austin Barry. Though he had to withdraw to find work to support his family, McClurg went on to have a successful career in engineering and always spoke highly of Manhattan, inspiring his grandson Paul to attend college in Riverdale. We're proud to call William, Paul and all our veterans, Jaspers!

JOHN MURPHY
John Murphy Aeronautical engineer and family patriarch in Roseland John Murphy, a 50-year resident of Roseland, N.J., passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2015. He was 78 years old.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. 07068, (973) 226-1111. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Roseland with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, N.J. Born and raised in the Bronx, N.Y., John received a B.A. in mathematics from Manhattan College (1959) and an M.A. in mathematics from N.Y.U. (1963).
John worked as aeronautical engineer for Singer Kearfott. He had an inquisitive mind. He loved investigating topics of particular interest to him. He thoroughly enjoyed interacting with people. John was married to his true love, Joan Patricia Trainor, and was the beloved father to six children. For John, family always came first. His children fondly remember him being present at all sporting and scholastic events. In recent years, he traveled extensively to be with his grandchildren, watch their sports, tutor them, and generally share his love of life. John was a selfless and humble man who was devoted to his God and family.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan Patricia (Trainor) Murphy, and is survived by his six children, Mary Ellen, Kevin J. (Pauline), Patricia Houser (Archie), Eileen Pearsall (Nels), John Daniel (Carolyn), and Kathleen Simpson (Ed), and his cherished grandchildren, Tomas, Katie, Nelson, Aidan, Taigan, Sarah, Kevin, John F., Kayleigh, Nate, John P., Quinn and Payton.

Some good news to share. We have had in our prayers Catherine, Mike McEneney's Grand Daughter who had been b hospitalized with severe food poisoning. Catherine talked her way out of hospital on late Wednesday. While Catherine is now able to eat, she is still very weak and at home resting. Mike and the Family thank you for all your prayers. Dear Alums,
It is with great sadness that I write to let you know that June Dwyer passed away suddenly this weekend. June was beloved by so many of us as an inspiring, generous, and dedicated teacher, colleague, and friend. Manhattan College and the English Department, in particular, were graced by her extraordinary gifts for so many years, and she will leave an absence that will never be filled.
The best we can do is to try to fill that absence with our many wonderful memories of June, and, for her faculty colleagues, among the most prominent of those memories is that of her unwavering commitment to her students. Nothing--nothing--ever challenged her belief that you all were the most important members of the College, and doing what was best for you was our shared, primary duty and privilege.
There are no plans yet for a memorial service, but we expect one to be held at the College at some point in the future. We will surely keep you informed. In the interim, should you care to send your condolences to her family, you can do so at this address:

The Prussian education system was to create: cannon fodder for the Army, willing morons for the factories, and useful idiots to vote for and be led by the elite.
Where do the elite send their children — not to Gooferment Skrules that’s for sure?

Ending them, and returning a child’s education to the parents, has to be job #1.
